Turbo Oil Regulator

We’ve found the solution to premature turbo CHRA failure. Typical engine oil pressure only advances to 60psi. Yet many engines start-up oil pressure can be as high as 80-150psi at cold start-up. Ball bearing CHRA’s will easily be damaged by this oil pressure and many other bearing setups surely will not appreciate the high stress.

Our valves are machined to handle up to 450psi without failure and use internal components that can handle up 200psi without leaking. With our valve unit we coupled a high temperature liquid filled gauge to allow you to monitor and adjust to your specific climate or more importunity oil weight. From Borg Warner, Garrett, Precision, and other various turbocharger CHRA’s we have successfully eliminated smoking at start-up, smoking in high boost, and also smoking on deceleration that’s not crankcase pressure related.

Many might look and see a basic ball valve assembly but they would be wrong. A customer of ours decided to replicate our unit with a trip to the plumbing store. Little did he know that the ball valve would start to leak from the adjustment lever and the insides would decay and flow into the inlet of his CHRA. Luckily monitoring and removing the unit prevented failure.

Each turbo typically uses a specific thread pitch or flange adapter for the top of the CHRA. Please contact us for a unit built specific for your turbo.

**For Garrett CHRA’s we can supply you with an in-house CNC machined fitting with internal restirctor for an additional $30.

**For CHRA’s that have a two bolt flange for oil delivery we can supply you with a billet flange for an additional $10.

**Want a stainless braided -4 oil line that’s the proper length? Just add another $20.

Remember, pressure changes with temperature, oil viscosity, and with oil modifications. Extend turbocharger life and prevent oil consumption. Setup instructions are included with each unit assembly.

Billet 13b Oil Pedestal

This product was created to allow for users to expand their oiling systems capabilities. Utilizing a larger oil filter allows for much more filtering area. The 3x 1/8″ NPT ports allow for pressure sensors, temperature sensors, and turbo oil feed. Another sophisticated option is to use an ECU pressure sensor to signal fuel cut or cut power to the fuel pump in the event of oil pressure drop, saving the engine from internal damage.

There is a 10an inlet for engines that rely on the feed to the oil pedestal. Most beneficial is a 10an outlet that can be used for oil modifications. For 13b engines you can run a line to your front stationary gear. For 20b applications you can run it to both the front stationary gear and the middle stationary gear.

The pedestal is anodized for use with corrosive race fuels such as c16 and E85.

For and additional fee, we also include 3x 1/8″ NPT plugs and the choice of fittings for using 10an oil lines or we can supply block offs for the two ports. Please contact us for special fittings or installation information.

One-Piece Hardened Tubular 13b Dowel Pins

***Effective March 16th, 2015 all tubular pins will now come with a 7mm internal diameter hole to match front main bearing oil galley inlet*** If you would like a custom inner diameter set made please look at our other items for our 9.5mm diameter hole to accommodate oil modifications made to irons.

Lighter than the solid dowel pins we sell, these one-piece tubular dowel pins allow you to have a stronger engine and still use the factory oil circulation through the center of the pins. The 13b engine from Mazda uses 4 dowel pins that are very brittle and provide more “slop” or “flex” in the engine.

These tubular pins are precision ground for tighter diameter and straightness tolerance. Each end is beveled for installation aid. After the hardening process the pins are finished to a 10 rms micron finished OD. Being one pin rather than two in the engine, rigidity is increased.

These bars retain a softer steel core but offer the tough exterior with hardening layer; a .1mm deep hardened exterior provides a smooth, durable, long-term finish. Furthermore, the exterior is so hard that they cannot be cut with a tempered/hardened band-saw blade! These are cut for the factory irons and rotor housings, if you have lapped irons please contact us; the length of these units are crucial!
